Construction of the 1,826-kilometer railway will begin in 2024. It is planned to kick off construction of 1,255 km of railway in the direction of Artssuuri-Nariinsukhait-Shiveekhuren in the western vertical direction, 426.6 km in the direction of Choibalsan-Khuut-Bichigt in the eastern vertical direction, and 430 km in the direction of Sainshand-Baruun-Urt-Khuut.
It is planned to put the 19.6 km Shiveekhuren-Ceke railway and the 226.9 km Zuunbayan-Khangi railway into permanent operation.
