A JOINT SEMINAR ORGANIZED BY "MONGOLIAN RAILWAY" SOSC AND /KOTI/ REPUBLIC OF KOREA’S TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH CONSORTIUM

Today /21.02.2024/ "Mongolian Railway" SOSC and /KOTI/ Korea Transport Institute jointly organized the international seminar on "Public-Private Partnership Connecting Minerals-Railway".
The event was opened by S. Batbold, Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development, and the following representatives attended. The event was attended by officials from the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry, the Asian Development Bank, the National Mining Association of Mongolia, the University of Science and Technology, the "UBTZ" joint venture company, the "Tavantolgoi Railway" LLC, and representatives from the National Geological Service and the Geological Research Center.
On this occasion, it was emphasized that it is a particularly important and economically beneficial project to introduce Korea's good experience and know-how into regional development by developing an optimal business model linked to cooperation in Mongolia's road transport and mineral sectors, as well as infrastructure development.
Mongolia's Ministry of Road and Transport Development, the Ministry of Finance, and the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2022 and began the project "Mongolia's Railway Development Strategy in Connection with the Establishment of East Asia Railway Community (EARC)".
Within the framework of the memorandum, "Mongolian Railway" SOSC, in collaboration with the KOITI Consortium Republic of Korea, will develop and implement Mongolian logistics development strategies and policies, as well as a financing model and management system for the construction of railway projects, Sainshand-Baruun-Urt-Khuut, Tawantolgoi- Research work is being carried out in the field of developing the feasibility study of the Dalanzadgad-Nariinnsukhait railway.
